Full-Scale Bubbling Fluidized-Bed Combustion System for Sludge Disposal and Energy Generation for the Paper Recycling Process, 1992 Environmental Conference Proceedings

Fluidized-bed combustion systems are a commercially viable and environmentally sound solution for the growing need for sludge disposal in the pulp and paper industry. These systems can be cost-effectively used to provide energy for the paper recycling process. Fluidized-bed combustion has clear economic and environmental advantages over landfill disposal and conventional combustion methods. This is demonstrated by the case study of a recent full-scale sludge combustion unit designed to dispose of sludge while producing energy for the deinking process.
