My TAPPI Story: McKenna Goulette
A strategy for planning for the requirements of the Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP) provisions of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments and new Alabama regulations for control of TRS emissions will be presented. The strategy includes development of a mill-wide emission inventory that identified, characterized and estimated the emission rate of more than 300 sources. Emission rates were estimated using a combination of mass balances, models and emission factors. The strategy also includes an analysis of control options for these sources, an evaluation of the benefits of the early reductions program, and use of testing data from industry groups.
