Performance of High Efficiency Diffusers in Pulp and Paper Applications, 1993 Environmental Conference Proceedings
High efficiency membrane diffused aeration mixing systems have generated considerable interest in the pulp and paper industry as an opportunity to reduce treatment costs as well as improve process performance in wastewater treatment systems. High efficiency diffused aeration systems have been applied at several pulp and paper facilities in the past few years with considerable success. Design characteristics of the applied diffuser system, installation and operational experiences, and general performance observations at Georgia Pacific Corporation will be presented.
Performance observations will include characteristics for the high efficiency diffused air systems as well as data on the replaced aeration equipment. A review of appropriate design parameters and field performance conditions will be presented.
