Overview of Boise Cascade's Dilute NCG System with Recirculation at Jackson, Alabama, 1994 Environmental Conference Proceedings

In North America, as environmental regulations become more stringent, there will be an increased demand for dilute noncondensable gas (DNCG) systems in pulp mills.
Depending on the number of sources to be collected in the DNCG system, the total volume could reach as high as 85,000 m3/hr (50,000 acfm). Since such a high volume system would require long lengths of large diameter piping, it is prudent to minimize the system size at the design stage.
As the Boise Cascade Jackson, Alabama mill, a new DNCG system collects vent gases from washer hoods and filtrate tanks. The system design volume was significantly reduced by recirculating the vent gases from the filtrate tanks into the washer hoods.
