Technical and Economic Feasibility of a Totally Closed Deinking Mill, 1994 Environmental Conference Proceedings

A study was undertaken for NCASI to evaluate the engineering and cost implications of achieving total closure of deinking mill water systems (i.e., elimination of liquid effluent discharge). To accomplish these objectives, data from several existing mills were reviewed and the most advanced water treatment technologies were evaluated. Site visits to several mills representing different process and treatment technologies, including a zero discharge CTMP mill in Canada, were made.
