Operating Experience of World's Largest High Pressure and High Temperature Recovery Boiler, 1994 Environmental Conference Proceedings

Akihiko Fujisaki

A chemical recovery boiler for the Kasugai mill of New Oji Paper Co., Ltd. which has the capacity of 2,400 BDton/day as black liquor solid content, commenced commercial operation in November 1990. Since then, one of the world’s largest recovery boilers which is designed for the steam condition of 9.9 Mpa at 5000C has been running successfully. The high temperature, high pressure, high efficiency recovery boiler increased the power generation of the mill. Very low TRS contributes greatly to the environmental improvement. This paper describes new technology applied, the operating experience of the advanced recovery boiler, and the impact on the mill environment.
