The practice of steam stripping of kraft foul condensates to reduce TRS and BOD content was reviewed. Industrial experience in operating these systems was surveyed through questionnaires circulated to ten mills and interviews at two mills. Field surveys were conducted at two sites to evaluate the efficiency of steam stripping systems in operation.
