New High Efficiency, Low Cost TRS Scavenging System, 1994 Environmental Conference Proceedings
E. A. Trauffer
The paper industry is continually faced with more stringent Total Reduced Sulfur (TRS) air emission limits. While environmentally laudable, the economic impact is great. Existing scrubber systems are often insufficient for meeting the tighter regulations. Chemical treatment costs also escalate since most chemical systems react with all acidic gasses present in the stack emissions. These problems have been overcome through the use of a class of patented scrubbing compounds that have been used successfully for the removal of hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans in the natural gas industry since 1988.
