Importance of Environmental Consideration in Facility Design, 1996 Environmental Conference Proceedings
During a major investment, such as new facility construction or modifications to existing facilities, consideration is given to almost every facet of a business. However, one critical review is often missed, that of the environmental professional. With good planning and consideration for long-term environmental compliance and stewardship, many minor changes in plant design can yield benefits in environmental compliance. Benefits can include waste minimization, reduced housekeeping costs, reduction in change orders, and the avoidance of fines or penalties. This paper discusses a variety of aspects to be considered and their potential implications.
