Environmental Auditing Issues from Different Perspectives (Panel Discussion), 1996 Environmental Conference Proceedings
The panelists will discuss issues in Environmental Auditing which each of the panelists is actively involved with in their company. Cynthia Cooley will discuss the value added by facilities Self Auditing along with Corporate Compliance Audits. Wayne Michgami will discuss Simpson involvement in EPA’s Environmental Leadership Program and a medium size forest products company’s perspective on environmental audits. Lincoln Romain will discuss BFI’s audit program. He will discuss how BFI, which provides service to forest products companies, deals with requests from industrial customers for audits or site reviews. This will include a discussion of what BFI would like their customers to know about their business and important questions their customers should ask regarding a supplier’s activities. Douglas Morrison will discuss the subject of audit privilege and the issues that are emerging with audit privilege. His discussion will include issues regarding the EPA’s audit policy and emerging issues regarding state legislatures’ actions on audit privilege. Together the panel will discuss how all these issues can effect an audit program. The panel will also discuss other emerging issues in environmental auditing such as IS0 14000 and environmental management system auditing.
