My TAPPI Story: Dave Maddux
Title V of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments require facilities that are major sources of air pollution to develop and submit an operating permit application. One of the requirements of this regulation is that the facility determine and describe an appropriate method for determining and documenting compliance with all applicable state, federal and permitted limits. In addition, the USEPA is in the process of promulgating regulations which will require additional monitoring and record keeping. Currently these regulations are called Continuous Assurance Monitoring (CAM) In order to minimize a corresponding increase in staffing and to insure the communication of accurate and timely compliance information, Tenneco Packaging and Orion CEM have jointly developed an environmental data system designed to automate the process of collecting, verifying, storing, and reporting environmental data. This will provide a facility with a single integrated system that will allow the facility to manage the flow of environmental data, while environmental personnel can concentrate on the management of compliance issues.
