Updated Approach for Major Source Air Permit Modeling, 1998 Environmental Conference Proceedings

A multisource modeling analysis was performed for a major source PSD permit associated with a large mill in the northeast. As with any other multisource PSD modeling analysis, a modeling methodology utilizing regulatory approvable methods and inventory data is necessary. For large mills, potentially having significant impacts and with complicated permit conditions, a great deal of thought must go into the modeling strategy. Key components of successful multisource modeling are: a careful selection of screening methodology, a knowledgeable review of multisource inventory, and a strategic but regulatory acceptable application of regulatory dispersion models. Each of these components are discussed in more detail below.
