For many years bioaugmentation has been used to improve the treatment of of aerated stabilizatition basins. The two main disadvantages to bioaugmentation are the expence of the products-to-cost effectively impacts a large treatment system and variability in content of acclimated microbes. "Biomass Blue-printing" is used to isolate the natural microbes in a biomass. After isolation of the microbial components a "Biomass Blue-print" can be fermented onsite at any time. This approach results in natural bioaugmentation of the system with the advantage of producing a low-cost, ready acclimated seed of known content.
