With the first BMP deadline behind them, many bleached kraft and sulfite mills are heading into their first year of implementing their regulatory spill control program. How is it going? What issues are these mills facing? What are the trade-offs from meeting a non-proscriptive regulation? Following presentation of the session papers, the floor will be open for a discussion of the challenges involved in a mill designing a liquor loss control program that meets the BMP regulation and yet is practical from an operations perspective.
