The main objective of this work is to show the environmental performance of Bahia Sul Pulp and Paper Mill related to its in-plant effluent control. The mill is a Brazilian company that produces 520.000 tons/year of kraft sulfate pulp and printing and writing paper. This paper describes the results obtained for effluents related to the contents of AOX, BOD, COD, solids and color. The in-plant control has a significant impact in the final effluent results. The environmental results obtained since plant mill start-up are in accordance and even exceeds the most restrictive international standards.
