David A. Markgraf--The secret to insuring high reliability and minimum downtime with Corona Treating Equipment is in preventive maintenance. This paper will cover "troubleshooting" as well as preventive maintenance, but the highest percentage time, money and frustration that can be saved will be saved by conscientious maintenance of the equipment on the regular cycle as recommended by the manufacturer. A complete exposition of the preventive maintenance activities will be used as a frame work upon which to build troubleshooting techniques. This will demonstrate the purpose, operating conditions, potential problems and symptoms of each element in the Corona Treating System. The effects of cleanliness and other issues on operational results such as "backside treatment" and "over-treatment" will also be discussed.
