Adhesion of Polyesters in Extrusion Coatings, 2000 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

Michael G. Baker, Bruce W. Foster--In recent years, there has been an increase in worldwide interest in extrusion coating of polyesters. As extrusion coating converters tackle the challenges of this non-traditional resin, adhesion is a primary concern. The purpose of this paper is to examine the mechanisms of polyester adhesion to substrates and use this understanding to propose methods for producing a successful extrusion coated polyester structure.
