Peel Strength Testing of Coextruded Structures, 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

Data is provided showing that the peel strength of typical coextruded structures is highly dependent upon physical, as well as chemical, mechanisms. It is shown that these physical mechanisms are responsible for most of the complex behavior found with coextruded structures undergoing peel. Insight is given into how to interpret such complex behavior. Also, data is provided showing how Morton has developed its Tymor tie layer adhesives by exploiting these concepts.
