Nucleated Nylon as a Barrier - Layer in Coextruded Films, 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
The positive effects of processing aids and other additives in PA6 film products on their behavior in coextrusion processes is of considerable importance. The use of nucleating agents affects cooling rates, crystallization, transparency, oxygen permeation and flex-crack resistance. A knowledge of these effects in both blown coextrusion and cast extrusion is important to produce high quality barrier materials at high production rates.
A comparison of nucleated Polyamide 6 and non-nucleated PA6 resins shows the use of nucleating agents improves nylon film properties in coextrusion.
