Characterization of 'Soft Feel' Coatings for Automotive Interiors, 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
With “soft feel” coatings gaining popularity as an alternative to PVC films in today’s automotive interiors, it is important that there be some method to characterize quantitatively the differences among materials. By examining the relationship between Konig hardness and coefficient of friction it becomes possible to quantify the “softness” of various coatings and eliminate the subjective that currently exists.
