Microwave Package Development: Choosing the Correct Material, 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
The selection of a packaging material for a microwavable application is greatly dependent upon the food, package design requirements, temperature performance, and physical properties of the material. This paper will investigate strengths and limitations of commonly used microwavable plastics (HDPE, PP, MicroMax®, and CPET). The focus will be on their physical properties that affect package design, processability, end-use temperature performance, and end-use application.
