Paperboard Package Development for Retailed Baked Foods, 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

Given the extent of microwave oven ownership by today’s consumer, packaging alternatives that are compatible with this end use as well as parameters addressing baked foods processing, commercial distribution and bakery retail sales is needed. Definition of package functionality, test methodology, materials and manufacturing processes to meet these needs requires a product development strategy. Such a strategy was successfully used to define the current Pressware line of bakery trays. A step by step description of the product development process used is hereafter reviewed.
