Investigation of Cast Film Machine Process Conditions and Physical Properties of Several Homopolymer and Copolymer Polypropylene..., 1990 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

The flow of polymers through a coat-hanger type film die is simulated using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Experimental flow distribution data is generated for various polymers through several die geometries. The results of the predicted flow distribution at the exit of the die agree well with experimental data.
