Release Liners: A Review of Present Technology, 1991 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
Silicone coated release liners are widely used in both the United States and Europe in many applications; from pressure-sensitive adhesive processing to cast product conveyance. The choice of silicone liner chemistry with the users sealant, adhesive or other unique contact chemistry must be carefully considered to achieve the expected performance results. Many choices of substrate are available, depending upon the strength and other performance requirements, in addition to a wide variety of release coating chemistries; all of which, when combined will tailor the release force and interfacial chemistry compatibility to achieve the desired performance properties.
