A variety of polypropylene copolymers containing the mesomorphic structure were prepared by controlling processing

conditions. These mesomorphic polypropylene copolymers exhibited softer (less stiff) film characteristics than comparable crystalline films. Processing conditions also were used to control the amount of mesophase in the copolymer films.
