Water Borne Adhesives, 1993 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

Richard Bashford

Water based dry bonding adhesive technology started with barrier adhesives. Environmental pressure forced advent of new acrylic emulsion technology with different perspective on required performance for dry bonding. This technology has advanced to broaden the spectrum of chemical type polymers that can be manufactured in water. In turn the performance properties and end use markets in which these products will function has expanded. There currently is a high level of development activity for water borne adhesive. This technology holds a lot of promise for the future.
