A new family of linear ethylene polymers, made by a novel Technology, has a molecular structure unattainable via existing technologies. Earlier studies demonstrated that these products have a very attractive sealing performance in blown monolayer films.
They combine very low Seal Initiation Temperatures with broad sealing ranges and high Hot Tack levels.
This paper demonstrates how those findings are translated into actual in-use performances in laminated film structures. The performance of these polymers is evaluated under real in-use conditions in comparison with products, presently used as sealing material. The needs of the different players in the lamination market are used as a framework for this discussion.
