As the demands and the expectations rise for faster cycling speeds on today’s high speed Polybag converting equipment, the machine’s ability to consistently produce an acceptable seal has become the limiting factor to machine speed and output.
Current designs were found to be inadequate for controlling:
-Hot seal bar contour when at operating
temperature (adjustability).
-Stability of seal bar temperature.
-Service life of heating element.
-Symmetry of seals leading and trailing.
This paper will discuss the design features of the new Thermal Expansion Compensating Knife (T.E.C.K.) Sealing
System, and how they have proven out in production environments, consistently
resulting in higher quality seals at today’s rapidly increasing operating speeds.
