Though two-part polyester solvent based laminating adhesives that can be applied at 50% solids on conventional equipment have been available for many years, the demand for these among converters has been low. If converters were aware of the versatility, high performance and economics of these products they may take advantage of the obvious benefits. Use of high solids, high performance polyester laminating adhesives requires only minor changes in processing from the lower solids systems that most converters have built their businesses on.
