Adhesion of Thermoplastic Coatings to Non-Porous Substrates, 1996 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
While the adhesive industry continues to grow, the art of adhering two dissimilar materials together is still fairly imprecisely understood. This work looks at the adhesion of EVA, EMA, and EEA to a primed PET surface. The adhesion is measured using a modified T-Peel test, which was effected by inconsistent sample preparation, contaminates, and adhesive thickness. The melt index was found to have the greatest effect, then the comonomer type, and fmally the percentage of comonomer.
