Internal Gauge Control, 1996 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
Reducing the thickness variation of blown films has been always a challenge. Particularly since the automatic flat die used in cast films has made +/- l-2% possible blown film has tried to catch up. Today the market knows several approaches with various results. +/- 3-4% thickness variations (2 Sigma) can now be achieved with blown film. This presentation is about the system that accomplishes this. It uses preferential cooling by the Internal Bubble Cooling air.
