Rheological Characterization of PP Based Extrusion Coating Resins, 1997 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

This paper introduces a method to achieve an increase in melt strength and reduction in draw resonance in PP/PE blends. The increase in melt strength was quantified using the dynamic and steady state viscosity measurements. We also used “ Rheotens” melt drawing apparatus to measure melt tension, as well as the degree of draw resonance and draw-down.
