Color Reproduction for Flexographic Printing, 1998 Polymers, Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings
Prepress graphics is changing faster and more explosively than any other segment of our industry. For many years, flexographic prepress was mechanical art, engravings and rubber plates. Over the last 10 years, the onset of photopolymer plates, digital graphics and the growth of process printing has affected the way in which we manage our business.
The purpose of this talk is to review the basics of reproducing color for flexographic printing, including the problems and strategies, and then to discuss the current state of the art technology specifically, digital proofing for process color. A digital process proof predicts the resultant color off of a flexographic printing press.
