New Low Cost-Low Voltage EB Equipment for Flexible Packaging Applications, 2001 Polymers Laminations & Coatings Conference Proceedings

I. J. Rangwalla--A new generation of low cost low voltage Electron Beam equipment operating in the 70-110kV ranges has been developed. These low voltage electrons offer efficient curing of coatings and adhesives 5-20 gramsmeter 2 thick. In addition, they are substantially smaller in size and very competitively priced to offer the most cost effective solution for applications in flexible packaging. Theory of operation of these low voltage electron beam equipment, performance capabilities and its applications in flexible packaging will be presented.
