Today, most converting processes are composed of one or more complex systems. In order to understand today’s trim removal, volume reduction and waste collection problems and opportunities requires a basic understanding of five available solutions: Manual Operations, Winding, Venturi, Cutter/Fans, and Chopper Fans.
To ensure that each trim handling solution has equal consideration, we will look at production issues (volume, line speed, and labor/utility operating costs); and any issues that might be associated with each solution (static electricity, noise, line tension, dust, air separation, space constraints, safety, maintenance, and capital cost).
As we go through this process, consider which of the options and production issues are relevant to your operations.
