D. Horsey, N. Lelli--Plastic films, particularly polyolefin films, are the work horse of the packaging and agricultural industry. Their omnipresence is driven by their cheap cost, good mechanical properties and durability. However, these films may have some shortcomings such as: optical properties; tendencies to attract moisture and dust; permanence (too little or too much); barrier properties etc. Additives can help to overcome some of these shortcomings and create differentiated high value film products.
