The Effects of Electron Beam Processing on Polymeri Films, 2003 PLACE Conference & GLOBAL HOT MELT Symposium
The parameters of electron beam (EB) processing are reviewed and the latest innovations in lower voltage, more
economic equipment presented. The effects of EB processing on diverse polymers used in film manufacture, such
as polyethylenes, as used in heat shrinkable food packaging, polypropylenes and polyesters are summarized. Data
on the EB effects on transition temperatures, heat seal capabilities and some physical properties of films is also
presented. Detailed performance properties and EB responses are most often grade specific.
