My TAPPI Story: McKenna Goulette
This paper theoretically investigates the drying of paper with a high-intensity dryer drum installed in the drying section of a paper machine. Specifically, it explores the effect of the location of the high-intensity dryer drum on the drying rate, thus, paper machine speed. This paper presents the average evaporation rate, temperature, and moisture content of the paper sheet as it travels through the drying section with the high-intensity dryer drum operating at selected locations and compares to those without the high-intensity dryer drum.
